Logistics Initiative Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

 

The Logistics Initiative was founded 2008 and currently has 92 members from business, associations, chambers of industry and commerce and from science and politics.


The Initiative goals are to strengthen the logistic industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in a sustainable way and also to promote the consistent cooperation of the transport industry in a regional, national and international context.


In addition, the Logistics Initiative does not only see itself as an organ of the industry, but also as pacemaker for innovations in the logistics sector.


The Logistics Initiative Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is part of the Network of German Logistics Initiatives.

GOODS FREIGHT TRANSPORT BY ROAD IN THE EU
  • In 2011, approximately
    14 933 million tonnes of goods were transported by road in the EU-28.

  • Between 2006 and 2011, the volume of goods transported by road fell in all Member States, except for Poland (47 % increase), Luxembourg (14 %) and Germany (2 %).

  • Decreases were observed in Ireland (64 %), Romania
    (45 %), Cyprus (40 %),
    Spain (39 %), Croatia (33 %) and Portugal (32 %).
